Hutchins, not Hutchinson. It's ok though, Compac is easier! LOL

Compac.  They provide great support.  If you hear the name Gary on here it usually means Gary Hutchinson, the builder and company owner.  He is great to chat with.

That wouldn't be a bad place to check to get a trailer!

Actually it's Gerry Hutchins..

Thanks for all the great feedback.

If you have a way to lift the boat on and off, you could transport it on a car hauler by making a cradle bolting 4x4 timbers together.

I do have a friend who has a car hauler,  and I'm pretty handy with woodworking.  Any pics of this being done anywhere.  I can see how to support the keel,  but how would I know how high and where to put the bunks?

Since the car hauler deck is flat my friend suggested just getting boat jacks to support the sides.  But I would be concerned about them moving around too much.

Here are some photos of how I haul my CP27 on a flatbed trailer in a cradle.  The cradle came with the boat, it's welded steel with jacks on the four corners.
I chain the cradle to the trailer, then I run straps over the boat and to the trailer as well.

All the weight rides on the keel.  The jacks are just supports to keep the boat from falling over.
For a CP23 cradle, just take a look at how various trailers provide that support.  Some have longitudinal bunks, some have rollers, some have pads.
Whatever they are, they should be adjustable to conform to the boat.
You can buy just those individual pieces from a trailer supply and bolt them to your homemade cradle.
This cradle was made so that you could launch/retreive the boat with the cradle, but my trailer sets too high and I'm not going to put it in the water.
When I bought the boat, they hauled it out onto this cradle setting on an old yard trailer.

I'm looking at getting a trailer made and was hoping that someone could give me a measurement from their boat.

My pic is not completely to scale but does anyone know what distance "A" is in my drawing?   Also how long is the keel fore to aft at the base?

Thanks
