Help --Fixing that stubborn crack in the sliding hatch board --

  Not sure when it first happen but I got a crack in the forward edge of the sliding hatch, on the vertical face - right in the middle .
I think it became obvious after having my well fed,  225 lb plus  helpers stand on it while heaving the mast up or down.
So I laid some fiberglass cloth over it and epoxy but think I either used to little or dropped the bottom edge to low to the deck,
making it scrap/bump into deck when sliding closed...
   Frustrating - does anyone know a successful way to fix crack and what dimensions it should stay within ?

The only real way to repair this is to remove it and flip it upside down, grind out the crack slightly, and then glass it over with a small ratchet strap holding the 2 sides together to bring it into the proper arc.
After that is repaired, I would then sand the entire inner edge face and the glass through that area witha  few layers, be sure to sand the edge proper, and then release the straps, sand the inner face and paint to your liking.
