Not as much as I would like to, Bob but I did consider going out today.

I really like those covers with the frame.  I am going to go that route next year.
The weather is looking up here in Bucks County PA. It is going to be above 40 today and in the 50's the next few days.
I plan on liberating my boat from its ice tomb soon ;D

I had about a half hour of light when I got home last night so I put on my snow pants and went to town.
My only mistake was starting at the bow.  I did not jack the rear of the trailer up so when I cleared the bow it changed the balance and boat tipped back on to the snow pack  :(.
Let me just say I started shoveling out the cockpit like crazy until the bow came back down.   Hopefully by the time I get home Mother Nature should have removed the remaining snow

One time, I was driving my truck around and brought my wife to work because it was so bad out. When I returned home, I wne to put it in park, and the shifter wouldnt do it. I called my buddy the mechanic and asked him if I was able to get it turned around and drive it to his place could he check it out. Sure, so now how do I do that....

I ended up looking under the truck to figure it out and the entire undercarriage was choked FULL of slush Ice. I had never had that happen.
To get it thawed out I spent the next 40 minutes with a hose spraying out the stuff. Horrible. Cold and wet I returned to the house to empty the water heater on me in the shower.

Knowing that I could stay dry, If I was in your predicament I might have busted that hose out and after the big stuff would have sprayed it out. I hope I never have to do it, but I think that would work out really well.

Glad to see this crap melting off finally..... supposed to get big rain tonight, and possibility of tornados rest of week.......

The tornado will  blow the snow away.  I wish this weren't so uplifting.

same here.

i arrived home after driving the jeep through 18" of snow and slush, and parked it in the garage.

the temp dropped to -26* that night and in the morning the brakes were frozen along with the steering due to the ice packed into them.

Gee. Looking at this picture brings to mind the Artic explorer Shackelton's crushed Beagle.

It's not possible to fool, change, or control Mother Nature. No matter how much money is thrown at her, right Mr. Gore?

OPPS! You are correct TedStrat on both counts ... the BEAGLE was Darwin and ENDURANCE was crushed. Thank you.

Gee, Bob. If that were Barnegat, you could walk? right out to Koinonia and save all that rowing. But, of course, the rowing is de rigueur...  8)

M: We've had more ice on the bay than I've seen in years. Not solid enough to walk on but strong enough to remove ICW markers. But not today....just got back from a nice 5 mile row. It's amazing how painful it is until you get all blistered up!

All we need is the James Caird lifeboat and Shackelton's navigator Worlesly!
Ps...wasn't the Beagle Darwin's? Can't remember

The neighborhood pond has thawed out but there is no way I can get my CP 16 into the the pond, so I have to wait for some real water around here to clear out. I guess that give me time to get some work done on the boat for the season.
