It is so cold I used the remote starter on my 4Runner this morning even though the truck was still in the garage.  18 degrees below zero!

-11 degree F. with winds out of the 'Nort' at 22 knots.

Beautiful normal frigg'n day. Feeling for the animals.
One chickadee needs around 220 black oiled sunflower seeds a day to survive a night like this.

Have not seen a low this low for 18 years.
As bad as it is up 'Nort' the Lake effect snow hits Lake Shore drive in Chicago. Just 160 miles South.

Staying home and reading a good book. This is about 1/3 of the World's population succumbing to flu.

Yup, we are back in balmy Wisconsin.  I volunteered to stay in Orange Beach and continue boat shopping, but for some reason Brenda didn't see things the same way.

85 and sunny here in NJ! Girls on the beach, beer in the mug, sails are full and bay water is warm....huh, where am I? Oh, I dozed off....dreaming!
I don't think about the cold...I work in it.

10 inches of snow----(-25 wind chill)-----after much effort that 40 year old case garden tractor started and i spent the last three hours plowing the snow off the driveway. should have built the house closer to the street i think.

I feel your pain   :o  Man oh man......global warming took the last few months off here in NE Ontario. Its a bit warmer today (long cold spell) and about another 10 inchs of snow last night. I passed the Suncat today in the shed. boats look so unhappy in a shed with snow all around.

How cold is it? So cold that my tounge stuck to my cereal spoon at breakfast!  So cold that when I got a speeding ticket I pled guilty and begged for the electric chair.  So cold that we had to thaw out the dog so he could chase the cat....
Seriously.. It's so cold that I thought I had a pebble in my boot, turned out to be one of my toes.

Actually it's 36 in albuquerque right now.  Split some wood today and am enjoying a warm fire in the stove.
So cold Bugs Bunny shoulda turned south in Albuquerque.

MacGyver

It was - 10 or so (No wind chill factored in..) in Carlyle, hate to think what it was at work. Carlyle was hit super hard, I am going to guess between 14 and 16 inches.
The road to Nashville (Illinois) was impassable, and north of Carlyle was also shut down due to a house fire and fire trucks getting stuck......
As a matter of fact I spent about 3/4 the day yesterday using my little electric blower and my hand shovel to get paths made to help keep it easy...... turns out the damn wind (really biting!) caused drifts like crazy, even forming a 4.5 foot drift across my neighbor and best friends driveway along with about 3 feet deep in my own driveway this morning.

After about 4 hours today, 2.5 in his and 1.5 in mine, we were dug out...... Sadly it would have been faster but my grandpas tractor being a diesel had gelled up...... first time he has ever had that happen.

I go to work tomorrow, which seems as if I willbe the first to make it in. I am the only one besides my boss with 4wd, and I am a bit nutzo I guess..... really I should just stay home, but money is nice, and 2.5 miles away, I could walk in my cold weather gear really.

I will end this with the numbnutz of the day picture......
This township guy (Who is supposed to know our roads) ended up plowing REALLY short of the actual road.... Instead of traveling between the STOP SIGN and the ROAD SIGN, He decided this (very super outrageously meticulous dudes) lawn needed to be the new road.
Then they brought in a grader and tried to pull it out by pulling it deeper in, instead of pulling it out the way it went in, which in turn broke the axle of the truck.
ENJOY my tax dollars being spent stupidly.

I literally think folks around here lost their minds over this snow..... the stores were empty, and people were insane.....
