Well, Eric:
I'd like to say that what happens at the Barnegat Bay Bash stays at the Barnegat Bay Bash but I've been around here long enough to know better. I'll let Allen or JT tell the tale....

2.5 weeks? Holy cow, you're fast. You and our friend MacGyver here must have been separated at birth. As for me, it took 2.5 weeks to decide what color bottom paint to buy.

Awesome dog, too. Looks like First Dog Max.

Haha the lil girl in the video is Maya. She actually is my friends dog. I have quite the opposite. I have a 120lb Newfie named Bear. But Maya runs the docks as if she is the dock master haha

Eric:
Since no one answered your question about my dingg, I may as well fess up. During the Barnegat Bay Bash 2013 this summer, I had rowed over to JT's 23 and we were all gabbing just enjoying each others company. Off in the distance I noticed a Walker Bay 8 dingy that looked just like mine. Hey! it is mine! Seems that in my excitement, I stepped out of the dink and never tied it off! No problemo....I rowed another dink over to retrieve it...no harm done...and not even much roasting here!
How's your boat coming along? Have you been able to get out sailing?

Hey Bob23!

Man I've been busy! I was slammed with some flight school related stuff, and finally, Graduated! So now I can focus on my priorities, haha.  Well I can't criticize you too much sense I posted a video of my C23 floating away on the first launch, but hey! you still got your Dinghy back. haha still would've been pretty funny to observe.  I have been sailing at least 3 times a week. She sails beautifully and very great handling boat.  For $4k I sure did get a steal. Some things that I will do this winter is make a adjustable Topping lift (not just that little cable off the back stay), Lazy Jacks, and a bunch of interior work.  But this is definitely a reignited passion from my childhood.  My dad and I are doing a 2 week sailing trip on his Aloha 32 down to the keys and where ever the wind may blow. I believe my dad and I are going to try and make the Com Pac sail trip next year.  Hope to see all the guys there! But the boat is quite famous back at Little Rock, its been in portraits and many Facebook Profile pictures (up to five people!).  She's super famous, haha.

Sounds like you have been busy indeed! Glad you are enjoying your 23. They really are great boats.
It was indeed funny to look up, see a dingy that resembled mine and realize it was mine!
It appears that you have a CDI roller furler, eh? Why not use the jib halyard for your topping lift? Just run it through the masthead backwards and Voila! an adjustable topping lift! The little cable on the backstay is used to support the boom while the boat is at rest. While underway, I have the topping lift connected for a number of reasons: to support the boom while the mainsail is being reefed. It also makes a quick way to spill wind out of the main if the need arises.
My boat lives on a mooring and I fly a steadying sail on the backstay. The topping lift is used to support that also.
