We had a quick rode down the interstate last week and launched in punta gorda. From there we made the tortugas in only 25 hours. The weather was great and the waters clear, three days of hatches open and the wind scoop up.  A ranger showed me the weather radar and with that storm brewing south of Cuba we headed for key west.  I'll post more later when I get wifi!

Little Koinoina is happy for her big sister....and a bit jealous! Enjoy the days afloat!

Here are a few pictures taken during our stay in the Tortugas.  Just as we made landfall the dolphins came to greet us, as you can see the water was very glassy.  The place is amazing and a dingy ride over to loggerhead key is a must.  The usual tourist only have access to Bush key so Loggerhead is very remote, we did our most enjoyable snorkeling there along with checking out the windjammer wreck where I apparently swam right by a jewfish bigger than myself and didnt know it.   Our trip back was pretty good though we were low on fuel since over half the trip has been long runs strait into the wind.  Were thinking about heading back to the west coast of FL tommorow  a little before lunch to arrive in Ft Meyers in the morning.  Or make a day run to Marco island, well see what the weather man says this evening.

Little Koinoinia is very happy...and very jealous! And everyone here at the site thinks it should be illegal for you to post such great photos of a beautiful locale! But thanks for doing it anyway.
Looking forward to hearing more about your trip when you return- if you return! Beware the sirens call!
Again, enjoy. If it stops raining here in NJ, little Koinonia will go for her first swim this season on Friday.
Best,

I don't have a bucket list, but I think I may need to start one...

we left out of key west yesterday at about 4pm.  After being in the Tortugas we were just spoiled and didint like being in the crowd again.  We headed strait for Ft Meyers and I thought Id drop some lines to troll.  The first mackerel was small but fun, the second was pretty good on size and soon as I had him in the cockpit he threw the hook out and proceeded to beat him self and throw blood all over the cockpit!  For that he became fillets!  We arrived safe on the west coast!
