After some conversations with Mac about a repair under the mast step on my 1980 CP 23 which required the use of my 80 gallon air compressor that needed its own overhaul, some other projects I find that I am curious about  and some other upgrades on the boat that need to be effective and cheap. So far as I can tell the boat spent a large amount of it's life if not all on Atwater lake in Ohio, which might be all of 1000 acres. The manual hand  bilge pump had never been hooked up, the sails have some crispness to them but must be at least 20 years old, original blocks, no sign of any salt water corrosion. Original cushions thin but no real fabric wear. I had to hook up the electrical system to the never used deep cycle battery. Only thing I found remarkable were some mud dauber nests. I know the PO  only had it for a year and when I had the boat hauled and mast dropped the workers told me it had been there for years. The 2 cycle O/B looks great, little maintenance except recommended done, looks like little use.
To the point I am curious if anyone has rigged Barber haulers on their boat? Since mine is a 1980 the jib and winch set up is fairlead to winch to cleat. I have picked up some small unused blocks on e-bay that apparently are designed for this as well as other uses. Trying to avoid tracks I was wondering if I might be able to p/u some performance using these. I am making both vang and I am upgrading boom end block as well as preventer and Cunningham but have only recently read about these. Any info would be appreciated. Mike
