Mac,
Did the pix of the CP-19 in New Jersey give you any idea of the difficulty to repair?

Yes actually. Somewhat of a project boat. Probably worth buying for about 2 GS or so, expect to do a deck paint job to really make it nice.
If it was close (and I had the money) I would buy it and fix er up.
If you need more details as to repair let me know I can go over rough costs and such if your interested in buying it.

How substantial would the repair be. Is it something I could attempt myself. I have worked with West System before though not extensively. Looking at the pictures I'm trying to guess how those cracks occurred.

May go take a look at it tomorrow. Anything that i should look at in particular.

If you could give me a quick rundown of what you think would be involved in the restoration it would be much appreciated.
Thank much.

The repair could be done one of 2 ways.
And the final coat of paint can be done a couple of ways.

It looks like to me it was squeezed between 2 other boats possibly. The big issue is what exactly happened, And then looking it over to make sure structurally there is no other damage.... hate to say it but only a trained eye might see that...

As far as quick rundown, that is hard..... It is kind of extensive in wording as the cracks are long.

Materials you are probably looking at about 300 to about 1000 depending on the interior, depth and condition of surrounding areas....
Labor time would be probably about a good 40 hours, removing things, etc, back to putting it back together at a guess.

It would be a project that to accurately tell you what to do, would either be extensive emails or phone calls to guide you through it as you would want to do a good job to maintain the shape in that area. The big thing for a boat like this is resale after repair.

If it was close to here, depending on what I saw with the boat I might offer 1200 up to about 1600. Repairs can range a bit due to the shape of existing gelcoat, etc, which after a repair is made with new gelcoat will still stand out like a sore thumb due to age of surrounding gelcoat. that therefore reduces the value.

Look for issues, out of place things, etc around the areas of impact. In your head, imagine the boat taking the damage it took, and what stresses that put on other items. Also factor in if the mast was up or down, etc.

Not to sound all overwhelming, but it can be a big undertaking depending on the issues at hand.......

The ad on Ebay says the boat was knocked off the trailer during Sandy. Some of the pictures seem to be pre-damage and the boat looked  quite good. There have been two questions asked/answered on Ebay, but no bids yet.
No interior pix and the damage pictures are not that good. The toe rail is seriously, but what does it look like on the fore deck side?
The boat is way too far for me. Wish I could put an eyeball on it.
The boat may have been insured and the owner compensated for damage less deductable. Could go for $2K.
With trailer and outboard could part out at a profit.

My understanding is that Perth Amboy suffered pretty serious flooding.  A lot of boats floated off their stands and were washed into each other.  I agree, most of the pictures are from before the storm.  It looks like a tarp was on the boat but has long ago blown apart and shredded itself, so who knows what the interior looks like...  I wish I had time to go and check it out in person, its only about an hour from me, but my weekend is booked solid.

Thanks for you advice McGyver and all. I ended up not putting in a bid. There were no bids on the boat.

I think the starting bid was way overpriced
