Fasteners for Jib Track?

Does anyone know how Hutchins fastens the jib track to the gunwales on the new Com Pacs?

I have some Ronstan C-track like the factory uses and I am wondering if I can just use some screws into the fiberglass or I if I will need to use flat head machine screws with nuts and washers on the back side.

Pac:
Definitely do not use just screws! sheet metal screws with flat washers and locknuts or flat washers and lock washers. I like to use fender washers where I can as added backing support.
When you pre-drill the holes (you will, won't you?) oversize the hole a bit, seal the hole with epoxy and use a good bedding compound under the track. Either butyl tape or Life caulk...I'd recomend butyl tape. Check out the "rebedding ports question" in the 19 section. There is a good discussion going on about butyl tape versus life caulk.
I don't know what the factory uses but based on what I see on my old 23, they would never use just screws!

Alot of guys talk about oversizing the holes, and sealing with epoxy, then redrill, Only if you are a perfect driller will you nail each one right down the center again.

I am not saying that it doesnt have its uses though.

Use fender washers, and quality SS hardware.
Also when you seal that track down, I suggest you seal the entire track, even not at the holes.
This keeps the water that will collect near it from getting under the track and molding, and possibly even seeping into the holes, etc.

I am not saying here that I wouldnt over drill, but in the area you will install them it probably doesnt have a "core" material to be damaged.

The core materials are the ones that should be overdrilled.

Good point, Mac. But as a matter of habit, I seal all holes with epoxy. It sure can't hurt, right?
And, yes- seal the entire track. If all goes well, I'll be reseting both of my tracks this winter. Man, there's alot of screws in there!
