wow, that's some heavily modified 23.  Notice that he mentions the draft at 2'11" twice.  Modified keel or sitting way low from all the added weight?:)

Billy

Nice boat! I really like the inside. Not so sure about the synthetic teak though....

Notice the front ports on both sides are different? Or is there some sort of cap on the back two?

I wonder what all that teak is hiding.

Is that just paint/gelcoat made to look like a wood deck?

Billy

No, it's like a neoprene material. Almost like a wetsuit. I saw it at the st. Pete boat show a few years ago. It's all one piece, like carpet. I don't think it really holds water. This is the company I saw. I'm sure there are others though.

But I really do like the inside of that 23, all except the head. I think the galley and fold down table are really nice.

I have a dorade just like that sitting in my shop. I hesitated to install in on my 23 because I thought it was too big. Now I know it is! But I may still put it on with a cowl vent in my never ending attempt to move air though the boat. Photos will follow.
I like some of the interior modifications but I'd put in a hanging locker where his head is. Just my two cents.

mr bob - what size cowl vent do you have - i am thinking of the same

I like where he has the head. We have the head on the centerline under the v-berth and it is a bit narrow and difficult to use. It looks like you would have more room putting it on one side of the boat like he did. However, if I was going to modify the interior to that extent a hanging (wet) locker would be high on the list as well.

Mr. Toad:
I didn't buy the vent yet; I only have the box but I'll probably get a large one similiar to the "nice" 23. My boat is always on a mooring so, being faced into the wind all the time, I'd be assure of some air flow through the boat. I'm also toying with putting one on the stern of the boat, in reverse, to act as exhaust.
Currently, I have a solar exhaust vent on the sliding hatch but it really doesn't move much air.
I guess you can tell that I'm an extreme anti-stagnation nut!

Bob, have you tried the PVC elbows Salty was talking about? I use them on my 19 and they work great. He just recently posted a few pics too.

I considered those but, no offense to Salty, I don't like the way they look. Also, seems to present a hazard while walking forward on the side decks. The cowl on the foredeck and an exhaust cowl on the stern would seem to ventilate the entire boat.

What is that box under the front vent for?  I've seen it on some other pics.

It's a dorade box (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorade_box) which lets air into the cabin, but hopefully keeps rain/spray out.

Holy Cow!
Neat. You don't put that kind of money into a 23 foot boat unless it is a Flicka.
