Just cut it off inboard of the T's and have the newly bent bar welded on there. Surely there are welding shops in Tampa area that can do this for cheap. $25 would be reasonable me thinks.

The bowsprit may require a new bow pulpit, or a new, longer forepiece on the pulpit for the forestay to clear. Call Hutchins to be sure.  This is the case for CP16's anyway, and based on the differences between the pulpit on pre and post sprit 19's, I bet that is the case too. If this is true, you could have the shop weld a new piece here too during the same visit.  Then you'll be ready for the sprit.

I took out the cent rail and the whole thing seems tater flimsy.
I sold my dinghy and now I am using that money to go with stainless. I broke down and did it.

I talked with Gerry and he said the stainless does not look funny without a sprit, but that the sprit looks funny with the alum. He assured me my boat would look fine.

Maybe for Christmas I'll get a sprit. Which just pushed the foil rudder back another year:(
