Curl in leech of Genoa

I just noticed that I'm the only site user who is not out sailing today :( But as a recreational type sailor with not a lot of experience with finely tuning sails I will ask my question. I was out with my daughter on the helm the other day and noticed that if I pulled down on the working sheet quite a bit forward of where it enters the block the curl goes away along with the flutter of said leech. I can't see any simple place to set up a block for this purpose and maybe the condition is just cause I have old sails. I do remember somewhere, in some book or magazine, a picture of a line with a loop connected to a jib sheet and led down to the deck of a boat. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks, rip

do you have Jib cars on tracks along the sides? if so you can adjust those. If not, sometimes there is a line in the leech of the sail, you can try adjusting (tighten) that as well.

if neither of these are viable options, you could try adding a pad eye at the base of one of the forward stantions (similar to how the furling line is ran aft) and run the jib sheets through those or get a longer jib car track that goes further forward.

but I would look into getting a new sail before I drill any holes into the boat.
