Someone may correct me here, but I think the problem is you are trying to post a .ppt file when it has to be .jpg file.

I was able to download and view your image using Power Point so all is not lost. Any who want to see the drawing just copy and paste the url into you browser address bar and the image should download. Open the file using Power Point.

When you open the file, to copy the url, right click go to properties and then copy the whole address.. In this case it is....http://com-pacowners.com/photos/albums/userpics/10283/normal_Slide1%7E0.JPG. insert the img in front and behind the url and you should be set. :wink:

That is the traditional single line jiffy reefing.  I've read and heard that it can sometimes be a little prone to jamming or otherwise fussy.  On a big boat it is probably a great system since doing anything the end of the boom can be difficult when the wind kicks up.

I went with a more conservative approach of a two line jiffy reefing system.  Its similar to  your diagram but I have two cleats on the boom (for each reef point) rather than one cleat on the mast and separately tension and cleat the line to the new tack and clew.  With two reef points in the sail I have a total of four cleats, cheek blocks, and padeys.  It works very well and I can easily reef singlehanded.  I've tied in and shaken out the reefs in quite a blow and wouldn't hesitate to do so if I felt the change in sail area would be an improvement.  Its really an easy job with this setup.
