I bought the LEDS for the mast and now I cant fit the old lens covers back over the new led replacement .
Any ideas for these old 1981 perko light fixtures ? ( mast head anchor and lower mast deck/steaming light.

I had the same problem. I went to the English car parts bin from my old business and rummaged up a very nice clear glass, and very tall turn signal pointy lens with a chrome surround and after a little wood working and hogging out the whole assembly fit over the outragiously large LED bulb purchased from AutoZone. A little epoxy putty in a tube and a wet finger finished the job nicely.

Since this is no help, look~see at the grocery store for a small jar of whatever, that appears tall enough and big enough around and is clear glass. Use that for a lens and make a surround from wood, metal, or an epoxy putty. A little waxed paper between the jar and the epoxy putty surround will allow for disassembly once the epoxy is cured. Drill a tiny hole for the screws and a starter hole in the wood on the steaming light [or new wood design] and sink two or three screws into the alum mast. Finish the wiring by soldering so you don't have to mess with a bad connection in the future and have to pull the mast down.

My Davis anchor bulb is a LED already and comes assembled with a lens and light sencing eye, which I had to add a switch to so this lamp won't come on automatically while parked on my dock and not anchored.

Always get all the bulbs working before the mast goes up. You can check with a battery charger and some small clips/cotter pins/uncoated hair pins/ or any other skinny conductor. You don't have to have the battery in the boat.

A problem with the machine prevents me from chaging colors and doing spell check.  Something about pop-ups blocked. But I can't get the stupid thing to un block. It all started when MSN automatically updated my machine to a Windows 7, 8, or 9...I hate MSN. I think I'm leaning toward an Apple.

Post  post.   Opps I don't know what I did but it's all better now. Well limping along.

Hockeyfool...I would suggest either sticking with the original bulb or swapping out the light for another one that already has an LED.  I agree there doesn't seem to be much space to install an LED bulb in there (on the steaming light).  I don't believe com-pac included a mast head light on their boats so that's been installed by a prior owner.  They did include the steaming light, and they seemed unchanged over the years on the 19.  Skips' jar method would work too, but could be tough to find the right one that fits and doesn't look like @$$.

Say their fella. Those small olive or onion jars are quite attractive in the moonlight!
