Is the snow up to your waterline and the temp down to -- well leave I ll leave it there.  For the last year and a half or so we have been trying to capture the essence of sailing a small boat and everything that occurs as it occurs - cussing included.  I think we have finally done it.   Sailing a Dolphin Reach was filmed on a mid November cruise along with Dead Calm.  We came pretty close with The Third of The Fourth and Dead Calm but I really like this one best of all.  Tell me what you think of it please- good or bad.   Next up will be a promo for Marine Concepts.  The makers of the Sea Pearl line.  I was asked to make a demo at the St Pete boat show and was able to get shoot some scenes at Ft Desoto last weekend - should be interesting and maybe a new tack for us who knows?  Matt   http://www.youtube.com/user/SVHideAway

Matt & Linda, A fun video, and your video technique is getting better. Didn't quite get the Yikes comment in your post though. rip

Great video Matt! I was reminded by your video of my experiences this past summer, "sailing the Dolphin reach" from Mexico Beach to the tip of Cape San Blas, FL.  Had my "pursuit" crew constantly with me.  If you can heave to, they will come up and out and let you touch them, however, I fear that is because some folks have fed them before, a very bad thing according to the fish and wildlife folks.

That docking was way to easy without the hint of a "Chinese fire drill"  Too bad I have not had anyone film my single handed dockings with high winds.  Now those would get a laugh or two.:)

Other than those folks in the dink we got really lucky with the high tide and light air.  Quite often it is more dramatic - Since nobody was around it had to be easy  Matt

Matt:
That was just what the doctor ordered in contrast to the 2 feet of snow I see out my window. I had an old SeaPearl 21 before the Compac and got to know Jim pretty well on the phone. Great guy to deal with and If I'd ever found a SeaPearl 28 for sale, I'd never have gotten my CP 23.
Good luck on the new tack!

You wouldn't want to know then that Marine Concepts has a 28 for sail --- I think it was around 19k.  Not a bad price.  Fortunately its in San Diego!  Jim used to have a Compac 23 when he lived up north someplace, so we had a good time sharing stories.  Thats when he told me about the 23 pilot house Compac is developing and some bad tales about the loss of the Hen molds as well as the SP 28.   Matt

I think about a year and a half ago he had a 28 for sale for 18k. It went for 10k. I could have died. But, then again, I've never sailed on one.
I never knew he had a 23. I just got to know him when I needed parts for my Seapearl 21. Quite a helpful guy. When we go down to Punta Gorda to visit our daugher in the spring, I'd like to stop and see him as well as Gerry and Rich.
