Hello All,
Well, we went and done did it.  Got us one of them there Com-pac 19's.
She is on a Boyer trailer that looks really solid and well built.  Came with a little Evinrude  motor.
We named her "Sweet Dreams"

Our CP-16 will be up for sale shortly, we are taking her, Summer Escape, out sailing this weekend.  Then.
Wow!  Does the 19 look BIG sitting next to the 16 in the driveway.  3 feet huh.

Congrats Doug and Linda.  You'll really enjoy those extra 3' when you put her on the water.  Enjoy your last sail on the 16.  You treated her well and the next owner will be getting a really nice boat.

Doug,
I am glad to hear she made it to WI safely, sounds like she is a keeper!
I can't wait until I get 'my time in' on our 16 so I can appericate thinking about  moving up to a 19 :)

BTW there is one (19) that just went up for sale on craigslist in St. Louis. (http://stlouis.craigslist.org/boa/1861122689.html)
I told my wife about it, but got no response, maybe she didn't hear me.

Congrats,
Noble

Doug-

Congrats on the new boat!!!  I am confident you'll enjoy sailing her more than the 16...much more stable, roomy and "secure" feeling.   The trailering, setup and teardown is certainly going to be more challenging for you.  Wonder if that electric winch you have will be the answer to raising the mast with minimal fuss?  One person raises mast above shoulder while the other winches the mast up (from the jib halyard)?

Yep, 3 feet longer and twice the volume and almost twice the weight.  She's a beast compared to the 16, huh??? If your 16 is any indication you'll have the "new" 19 ship-shape in no time.

Greene is right...once you get her in the water you'll really appreciate the extra space and stability.

Again, congrats on the new boat!

Many congrats, Doug and Linda!
I've not owned a 16 nor a 19 but have sailed each briefly with friends. Loved them both...what's not to love about a Compac? May your new boat bring you many hours of sailing fun....when does the new rudder get started?

DOUG142

Bob23,
Thanks
The new foil rudder for the 19 will start pretty soon.  Have a few things around the house to do first.
What's that called "Honey, do list"?  You know.
Well, they look great sitting there.  Can't wait till we get her ready for the lakes around here.

Now all you need is a 23! And a 25...and a 27.....and a 35!!! Where will it all end?

im gonna wait until luke and debbie want a bigger boat then i will buy their eclipse. thought about that 19 in stlouis but i would have to convert it to the mast tender system without a spreader or backstay. doable but now im pretty tied up restoring this old 52 ford pickup. like they say you cant have it all. but in all honesty i love it when that little 15 heels over in good wind. when that happens i alway turn to her and say "hey we're sailing". best of luck with that 19. one thing is sure she found a good home and skipper.

Steve,
A mast tender system would be great.  We are working on a winch system right now.  Linda can't help lift the mast, but she can crank the winch.
Did that sound right?  Oh well.  The new boat looks very good and it is hard selling our 16.
Good luck on your restore.
Don't think Luke will be selling the Eclipse anytime soon, but you never know......
Thanks,
Doug
