Bimini Thoughts?

yea, I can sail w/ it up. I did have to shorten my topping lift just a tad though. B/c of the main sheet it does not go very far back though (I'm thinking of getting a tiller extension). When at the helm you are not under the bimini (or you cat seats). I do have a little trouble seeing the tell tails on the Jib, and when the Admiral goes forward I can't see her unless I stand up. But it is SOOO worth it!

I do trailer it. I thought I would be able to just lay it forward, but it is located to far back and it blocks the companionway hatch. So I just lay it back and it sits on the lifelines (just forward of the stern pulpits). As it is, I really can't sail, or motor w/ it down. It's in the way of the tiller too much. I figured if it was ever cold enough that I would not want it up, I would just take it off and leave it in the truck. It is only two screws.

Mine is on a track (about 16" long) right next to my jib car track so i can slide it back if the main sheet is not attached, or forward if I'm down below in the cabin. Just be aware when mounting that you don't block your winch & cleats.

It's about 4' long and could have probably been a tad bit longer. I'll try to get some measurements and more picks and post them tonight.

I know I sound like I'm complaining, but I LOVE it!!! Just saying be careful where you mount it.

People always love to stop you and talk about these beautiful boats, but I noticed w/ the bimini even more people at the ramp and the dock want to ask questions. I'd sit and talk all day but my wife was like, "Lets go sailing". I think that was the 1st (and only) time she wanted to sail worse than I did!

4'-6" (54") long, this dimension could be a foot or so longer
3'-0" high
6'-4" (76") wide

you can see how it would fold back and sit on the life lines

here is the view from down below, you can see that the Jib is hard to see

and one more for good measure
