When my parents had their 3rd River Queen houseboat on the Wisconsin River dad had the shop weld up some channels for a "bolt-to-gether on the beach triangle trailer" that had two welded rollers about 2 foot long and about 12 inch dia. and a formed skid at the front for the tow truck to latch onto and drag the boat out of the water and up onto the beach. Once parked on the hard, and the boat raised off the trailer we took the trailer apart. [Going into the water we pushed her back on 1" x 4' x 8' plywood road.]

From there a 5 ton bottle jack and a bunch of 2 x 4's finally raised the boat high enough to sit on 55 gallon drums for hull painting.

We had lines and floats at the two back rollers and dad and I winched the trailer up to the bottom of the boat while she floated. The bow skid was grappled and the tow cable attached. The truck pulled...then the truck needed to release and let out enough cable so the truck could be chained to a tree. You see the boat was the anchor and the cable started to pull the tow truck into the water. Did this at the end of every season.

skip.
