I like my Tundra. 2001, access cab, 4.7l v-8 and 4wd. It doesn't even know my 23 is back there and also tows my 6000# (loaded weight) construction trailer and has been doing so since 2001. No complaints, nothing has broken except a/c not working presently, 12-15 mpg, 158,000 miles and still going strong. No leaks, squeaks, rattles or payments.
Most importantly, the green perfectly matches the green lettering on Koinonia!

Hi Steve,
I tow my CP23 with a Nissan Xterra.  I used to have a Jeep Liberty but the transmission dropped out and I think it was because the load was just too much.

Keep the transmission fluid cool and clean and 'sweat' and the hydraulic servo motors will never where out. Try a cooler next time.
skip.

Sherie,  Did you Liberty have the factory towing package?  Curious, the Liberty was on my short list.  The specifications say they can tow up to 3,500 lbs.  Factory towing packages usually include a transmission cooler along with a heavy duty radiator.

Thanks,

Steve

Wow... Just found pictures of the tow vehicle from Hell.  I bet you would get great mileage out of the front tires as they probably aren't on the road all that much. Nicely ventilated cabin space in this vehicle as well. And, another plus, American made.

Steve,   thanks for the picture, will be looking locally for this vehicle. The trailer looks to me to be lighter than our cp16...<grin>

You have to appreciate that 4 x 4 that they whittled down to fit precisely into the receiver hitch. Now, that's craftsmanship.

Steve,
No.. it didn't have the towing package on it when I bought it.  But I had it added at the dealer, so they should have added whatever was needed.  Obviously that didn't happen.

Now that's what I'm talk'en 'bout. I love it!!
And it's American dab nab it all. Gotta get me one of these.
At least she's not front wheel drive. And no need for a bilge pump, nice scuppers.
But can you 'crab' the trailer around with out denting the top of the SUV?
And look!!! the paint matches. White on white. How cute. Wood stripes-Gold stripes. Brown stripes when stopping.
What a cool, under loaded, easy pulling, easy rolling [down hill] toe Vehicle. Bet the gpm is way up there in the stratosphere.
And just think if it ever shifted out of first, its still got two more.
Not even a clunker. Imagine the driver's pleasure at looking up at stop lights. No neck strain.
Probably the kind of guy who creeps up on stop lights to make them change faster.
Think if you open the door smoke rolls out? But it's got flow thru ventilation.
And that fold-down-pull-out EZ-to-store Reese Goose hitch. Is it still under warrentee?
The mounting into sheet steel is perfect. What more does a guy need other than a few screws? Are they loose?
Sport'en that sexy drop down tail gate what with the patented Dolly [Parton] box elder wooden tee support.
Two, count them, two Reese hitches. Double careful. Don't want no accidents. Got the pins in.
We don't need no stinking balls down there, just something for the wood peg to fit into.
And let me tell ya son, that driver knows right where his ACE Hardware store is. Look at them safety chains and fine Chinese 'S' hooks. Now that's some fine load levelers. Who needs safety chains on the trailer?
It'll be a blessing when it falls off. Stay away from Utah, and me with that.
skip.
