Ooo...Ooo...Can I be first?

This was Feb. 12 a couple miles off Daytona Beach out of Ponce Inlet. I have 4 or 5 different clips from that day. This one, my wife's at the helm and I'm on the bow. The main sail is under trimmed just case we get hit with a gust, I didn't want to go over  ;)

Just beautiful! Being up here in 39 degrees 45' North lattitude, seeing a 23 under sail with the sun shinning sure get's me in the mood to sail! Thanks for the movie!

Nothing like seeing a sailboat cruise through the water at a good pace.  It's great to feel the wind, sun, and your boat breaking through the waves with virtually no other sound.   It can be very addictive.  Thanks for the video, hope to see more.

My favorite on my wish list is the Com-Pac 27, knowing I'll never live long enough to amass these funds, I'll be more then happy with my good old 19. skip.
Say anyone figure out when that article in Good Old Boat Magazine featuring the 19 will be published?

Thanks everyone!

I kinda forgot how crappy the weather still is around most of the country and that video may have seemed cruel and unusual...  ;)

I'll link one more video until the weather gets better for the northerners, lest they hop on there snowmobiles and drive down here and strangle me for subjecting them to anymore of this kind of torture during the winter.

Here is a winter day in January, again out of Ponce Inlet. I had a friend from Indiana down so we had to go out. Remember, while winter in FL may seem like a beautiful day up north, it is relatively colder for us!  8)

Awwww...relatively colder. I feel so bad for you! Greg, I saved a bag of snow in my freezer for you. Let me know where to send it!
Keep sending the videos...we'll take the cruel and unusual punishment.
Bob23...lookin' for my sunblock!

Bob,
All this time I thought you were north of me.  I'm just shy of 45 degrees north (northern new york).  We've had beautiful weather the last week, but the 18" of ice on the lake take a while to melt.  Today was the first day I could see open water....Only about 2 weeks left to ice out.  It's been a long winter, Ice in was early December.  We've had ice as late as April 15!, so this year is looking up.

My video links in my posts above are dead (temporarily), but I did put together a little compilation video. I really have to hand it to anyone that takes the time to edit movies and videos. A lot of work goes into it and it only seems marginally worth it. This clip was over 6 hours editing...of course some of it was a learning curve. But without further ado:

Greg  - what editing suite are you using - would you recommend it?
Thanks

Ron, it's iMovie HD...came with my iMac. Yes I'd recommend it. Without reading the instructions, it's pretty intuitive and was surprisingly easy dubbing the sound track and syncing it. Everything I wanted it to do I was able to figure out how to do it. The videos were from four clips I took that day just using that little digital camera I had in the Keys, the Olympus Stylus 1010SW. Actually, I was so happy with the editing software I'd really like to take a better true video camera next time.

However, like I said in my post, the editing is a lot of work for little payoff in my opinion. I'm very happy with the result, but I now have a better appreciation of production quality in amateur/homemade videos. Should see some decent videos from this July's Keys vacation!  8)
