   Thanks for the info on the boweye. I don't use mine for mooring, although I do moor the boat using the bow cleat. In a blow, I'll hook an additional line to the boweye. I'll check mine this winter and most likely upgrade mine as you did yours.

I'm thinking of adding an additional eye higher up on the bow for mooring purposes.  Any thoughts?  I'm having some hardware upgraded and replaced when I have the hull buffed out, so would it make sense just to add two cleats ondeck for mooring purposes?  The boat is an '80.

So, I guess it's a good thing that I've been using a ratchetted strap from the bow under the trailer tongue during trailering.... and I thought I was just being over cautious....
