Like me, I bet many of you might've probably read the sticky re: the "Mast Down Alert" post on this Horizon Cat/Day Cat thread. I just visited the Fathom Metal Works/Com-Pac parts website, specifically for their Horizon Cat, where I do see the replacement bob stay kit is available (thankfully!).

My questions:

1) Has anyone installed this on their HC or HDC? If so, could you post some pics (close-up) of the new part replacement upon completion?

2) How difficult of a job is it to do re: the installation/replacement?
     a) What tools, etc are needed?
     b) How much time did it take to complete?

Thank you!

Should be a piece of cake.  Most HC's that I have seen have replaced it already.  The bend that you see is to compensate for the variable length of the stay.  Personally, if I were to replace it, I would trim it to the required length so it is straight rather then bend it slightly, as the installer on my boat did.  Once trimmed, it would take ten minutes to install with usual hand tools.  Sail On  AL
