HC questions -- please help

Hi, everyone! I'm wondering if you could help me with a few questions I have about these beautiful boats:

1) Does anyone know what the diameter and length is of the MastTendr line for the Horizon Cat?

2) Has anyone ever replaced the centerboard line pennant on their Horizon Cat and if so, what kind of line did you use, as well as what was the diameter and length of the line? I have heard of people using Dyneema these days, I think.

3) I'm assuming the centerboard is hinged and incorporates some sort of pin -- has anyone ever replaced this part? If so, what is the part you used? I'm assuming the part is universal to Horizon Cats?

4) I have read that the centerboard trunks of the earlier Sun Cats and Picnic Cats were fabricated of stainless steel, and then later switched to fiberglass, I believe starting in 2006 or maybe 2007 -- is the same true for the Horizon Cats? I would assume so, but I don't know the history there on that.

6.5 feet of 1/4 inch line is the usual length of the centerboard pennant.  Any good quality line works, especially if you release the tension when the boat is on the trainer.  Yes, the board is on a bracket and pin.  I have not heard of anyone who needed to replace either.  BUT, the shackle that connects the line to the board may need to be replaced.  Mine fell apart last winter while in FL.  See the centerboard post down a bit.  It has pics too.  Do not skimp on the shackle.  Buy the Wincherd once and it will last forever.  I do not know about the trunks.  All boats that I have seen have fiberglass trunks and concrete keels.

Thank you so much, Al -- I so appreciate the info!!! Here's what I found out about the MastTendr pole from another HC owner:

"The nominal length is 41" with the slotted cap comprising 1" of that total."

I texted you, too, on this, but thought I'd also write it up, here on the forum, as well for others to note.

The Picnic Cat CB trunk has always been SS, my guess would be fewer were left in the water and the corrosion issues experienced with Sun Cats, due to inadequate maintenance per Com-Pac (see below), didn't develop. I do know of at least one severe corrosion issue of the CB trunk with a PC kept in a FL marina with significant stray current issues.

The Sun Cat design was changed around 2002, according to Com-Pac.
