Legacy production

Hi,

Thinking of a buying a Legacy, prefer a Sport.

Does anyone know the production numbers of the two models of the Legacy?  What is the last hull built?  They seem somewhat rare. I'd buy a Legacy Sport if I could find one. 

Any leads on one.  The closer the better.

My Legacy (not a Sport) is one of the last 4-5 built, if memory serves -- mine is a 2024 and I'd have to double-check my HIN on which number she is out of XXX. I have a Com-Pac friend who knows the answer to how many Legacy hulls were built, but I can't remember what that number is. I'll reach back out to him to find out and report back here.

I'm assuming you might have seen my other Legacy (a 2008 model) is for sale, but it sounds like you would prefer a Sport, anyway, and perhaps a more recent model. My listing is under the Classifieds on the forum, here, tho, if you'd want to check the boat out.

Update: my Com-Pac contact said he believes about 100 Legacy hulls were built. My boat is hull #94, a 2024 model.

Thanks for the links. The one in NY I had not seen before, I wonder what it would cost to have it shipped here.

I found the one in Dallas. This looks like a boat show boat that never sold.  $30k for a loaded new Legacy without a warranty. Yikes! 

Since you have a new one, is this a reasonable price for that boat?  It has a lot of expensive options, including the electric motor. 


That national vehicle llc is a fsbo site, never heard of it.  Lots of peeps trying to avoid paying a broker. 
   
There is a supposed newer Eclipse at that site that is in North Port, FL 15 miles from me. $35k for an eclipse?  Seems like a nice boat and maybe they have that kind of money in it but wow, Prices are crazy.  These boats have been sitting for a while, deals available?  Gotta wonder if they have had any offers.

Yeah, I saw that Eclipse, too -- there is another for sale out of New Mexico on the boat trader dot com website -- about $30k for that one and it's a 2018 model.

The last price list from compac I saw for an eclipse was a couple years before they shutdown and my eclipse would have listed out at 60K.  They really got expensive in the end.

Using the wayback machine I looked at the now closed local Com-Pac dealer, Gulf Island Sails, and found their published prices for the boats last posted in 2024 before they closed down.

I used it to get a Legacy, starting at about $14K and with all those options on the 2024 boat and I got around $25K plus a motor.  Yes they really went up. I'm sure if they were still building they would be 20% more now. 

Same with an Eclipse, I can believe well over $50k for a fully equipped new one. They were showing a base price of $32K 2 years ago.   

Look at some of the boat sales web sites, they have vaporware 2026 Catalina 22 sports starting at $45K.  These are legit dealers.  These boats are likely to never be built, but I'm sure they will take a deposit. Be careful out there.  Crazy times.
