I found a marina repair place on Little Sarasota Bay about 8 miles from where Petit Chat is located.  They are scheduled to lift her out of the water on Monday around 10:30 and put the new shackle/line in place.  Plan is for me to move the boat around 8 in the AM and motor up (North) the intercoastal to the marina, stay with the boat while she is being fixed and motor back.  Should be an interesting day.  Regarding the shackle, I found one that "should" fit well.  It is solid stainless and should be way better than the one currently stuck up in the trunk or laying underwater in Nokomis, FL.  It has no pins or screws sticking out from the body and uses an allen screw to lock it in place.  If it works as I believe it will I will post the part number.  After searching and searching I found it on Amazon?  Wish me luck....  Sail ON  AL

In an abundance of caution, you might want to check the shackle with a magnet to ensure it really is austenitic SS - lots of bogus SS out there.  Often the body is fine but the screw is not.
