Where can you get a pair of stern cleats? Believe they are bronze. Phil

My 1981 C16 came with Marelon (or Nylon) cleats on the rear.

Hey Phil, indeed some were Marlon but some were bronze. Our '87 has bronze cleats. You may wish to measure your existing cleats and search on-line for bronze equivalents. There are many sites, here is one: https://www.spartanmarine.com

Did my shakedown cruise today on my (1985) Compac 16 with my kid (I just told him to get in the car. No option of not going, muhahah, just kidding sorta).

I was surprised to find out it had 2 stern cleats.... and no second port or starboard side cleat at all. Are we just supposed to use the cleat on the foredeck for tying off? Not really an issue if so, but I just found it surprising.

I assume you are not trying to tie down in heavy weather.  LOL.  Yes. tie front cleat forward to something on dock, same to rear with rear cleat.  Optionally, add a spring line from the front cleat (or stantion) to a midpoint cleat on the dock then back to the rear side cleat.  Perfect tie up.

My preteens did the tie-ups on the boat each night.  They slept in the lower berths, we in the cockpit with a pup tent supported by the boom.  Many nights in North Channel, NY finger lakes, Lake Michigan and more.

The preteens are now in their late 40"s, fighting over who gets the CP16 when I go to the Home.  LOL.

The stern cleats on my 1978 (Hull # 806) Holt-Allen HA 281s.  I just ordered replacements at Maurpro
