How to rig the mainsail reefing line

New to me Compac 27/2 with no mainsail and rigging.Looking to rig the reefing system. Paperwork that came with boat shows 2 different reef line set ups. One shows a 2 sheave car inside the boom with 2 separate lines, one for fwd cringle and one for after cringle. The other shows a line running from mast up to fwd cringle, back down and into mast, coming out the aft end of boom over a sheave, up and through the aft cringle, then back down and fixed to the boom. On this second reefing line rig the picture shows 2 sheaves with jammers but don't know what they are for??? I'm doing this on a pnone so can't see how to attach pics, thanks

I found your post because I'm looking to changed the reefing system on my 27/3.  I absolutely hate it.  It requires a trip to the mast to secure the topping lift, then back to the cockpit to release the main, then back to the mast to struggle with the single line reefing which always binds where the line exits the boom.  It is a royal PIA.  I came here to post a question to see if anyone had modified the system to an external slap reefing system, or if they could suggest a rigger to help with the geometry of attaching blocks and padeyes as I've already modified the mainsail with a second reefing point. 
There is only one point that I'm not sure will work, but my idea is to run the topping lift forward exit point out where I can run it through the blocks now in place for the reefing system.  The way I can secure the topping lift and release the main from the cockpit.  Then I can work forward only once and secure the slab reefing, then back to the cockpit and raise the main and release the topping lift.  One I have it set up, I also need a place to secure the topping lift so it doesn't bang around on the sail.  I'm also moving the outhaul externally with a 2:1 purchase because this is a sail control, just as important as the sheets, and I want it available from the cockpit.  But because of the gooseneck I have, I need to add cringles to the boom.  I'm not happy with that, but I don't see any other options with the gooseneck I have.  Then I need 2 blocks, 2 padeyes and 2 cleats to finish the set up, but it will be safer and more reliable. 
Have you finished fixing your set up?  Do you know of a rigger that can help?  where are you located?
