Need a measurement

I plan to purchase an Eclipse within the following year. Right now, I'm in the process of designing a boat house with a lift to store the Eclipse. I am wondering if a current owner of Eclipse could provide me with the measurement from the bottom of the keel with the centerboard up to the top of the stepped mast. This will help me determine the required roof height for the boathouse storage. I genuinely appreciate the assistance in determining this height.

Thanks

The mast height above waterline is just about right on 25' with nothing on top the mast.  I sailed under a river bridge showing 27' on the waterline a couple years ago and was nervous, but it cleared with a foot to spare above my windex.  The draft with board up is 1' 6" so you're looking at a total of 26' 6".  That's a pretty tall boathouse!  Are you putting a door on it?  If so what type?

Appreciate the response, but I'm looking for the height of a stepped mast to the bottom of the keel. I'm assuming this measure would need to be accomplished when the boat is on the trailer with the mast stepped. I plan on stepping the mast before bringing the boat into the boat house and then hoisting it out of the water. So I need to determine the roof height based on this measurement.

I think he means the height from bottom of the keel to the mast stub with the mast down, not stepped.  If no one else replies I'll try and get a measurement tomorrow

I gave you this answer.  26' 6" from bottom of keel to top of mast.
Waterline to top of mast = 25' + 1' 6" from waterline to bottom of keel

Yeah, I think FastDoc got it right. Like you, I couldn't get beyond the idea of a two story boat house for an Eclipse! Why?!?!

A simple misunderstanding of "stepping" makes sense. He still needs a height above waterline with the mast down, if anyone gets a chance. Hopefully he'll give himself a good margin, things can differ.

Ok, these are not perfectly exact measurements, but from the bottom of the keel to rubrail is about 4 ft, and from rubrail to the top of the mast stub is another 3 ft, so I would guess at least 7 ft conservatively.  Hope this helps somewhat.
