Received mine, but separated from my Sun Cat until mid September so unable to 100% verify fitment. Seems quite stout, maybe even heavier gauge stainless than OEM.

Looks right, let us know if it works. I see reference to O'Day Spars on the Dwyer site, under Parts By Boat, but there are no products associated. My guess is that DR Marine is sourcing the parts from Dwyer. Bottom line, no machined fittings here, plenty of slop.

I see the Dwyer part in question, DH4151S, is now $81.43. I bought that part in 2015 from Dwyer for under $20. Com-Pac wanted to sell me the whole gooseneck assembly.

I just checked the Dwyer site, and the DH4151S slide is used on the boom and gaff goosenecks on all the catboats, PC, SC, and HC.

Yep, can't imagine it won't fit/work but I'll post a follow up after confirmation. I recently bought a pristine freshwater 2004 suncat daysailer and those goosenecks were about the only parts that were not in great shape. At at over $80 ea. from Dwyer I was going to otherwise make do...

Sorry for the delayed confirmation, but the DR Marine gooseneck is indeed a perfect fit and significantly stouter than the original Compac gooseneck as you can see from the pics.

In fairness, I have no idea if the current Dwyer part has been beefed up but the DR Marine version is almost 50% less anyway.

Thanks for the update. I think the best news here is that your new slide looks different enough in these photos from the Dwyer slide to suggest it's made by another manufacturer. That's great, since Dwyer is no longer selling this part retail, or maybe at all.

Splitting hairs, but Dwyer did specify the 3/8" slide, DH418S, for the PC on their shop drawing, although both reportedly will work with the DM-284 mast. I'd guess that Com-Pac called for this. The SC drawing doesn't specify the slide, with the same DM-275 boom and a DM-375 mast.

Yep, always nice to have an alternate supplier - especially when comparing them the OEM Dwyer seems almost absurdly thin and weak.

In case you haven't heard, as of 4/1/26 Dwyer is out of the parts business, wholesale and retail, at least for the parts we're interested in. They're owned by Zim, and it appears that the parent company has turned its manufacturing capacity to support a limited number of one designs. All smaller boats, ILCA is Laser, ISCA is Sunfish.

So, whatever alternatives we can find we appreciate. A lot of legacy brands have been abandoned, as listed on the current Dwyer page. So far we've found that the same Dwyer parts we use were used on O'day boats as well, specifically the Javelin, Day Sailer, 15, and likely others. O'day closed its doors in 1989, and parts are still available, to some extent, at places like D&R Marine.
