Hello all.  I have put my Eclipse back up for sale should you know of anyone looking.  It is a 2007 #49 out of 100+ that have been made.  Not sure of the real total.  Since Com Pac has closed the doors there will be no more Eclipses.  What a shame.  It was one of the best sailing boats I have owned and/or sailed in.
I had a friend who mentioned that it might look like a bad boat since it is back on the market after being on in the Fall.  Here is the abbreviated story:  As I have aged (79 now), the trailer sailing of the Eclipse became a bit much to handle.  During the winter I trailer sail the Gulf of Mexico.  Arrive at the ramp, pull the outboard out of the truck, step the mast, launch, etc.  Sail for 5-6 hours or so.  Put her back on the trailer, drop the mast, drive to our park wash station, wash the boat and flush the motor.  Remove the motor and put it into the truck.  Park the boat and collapse for hours.  Even though the Eclipse is not difficult to launch and retrieve, it became too much for this old man. Especially the outboard.  The 4 hp 4 stroke got heavier every year. LOL
Anyway I bought a diesel Horizon.  One sail, no outboard, etc.  Once I got her home, I put the Eclipse up for sale but it was already late in the year.  A week in the hospital added to my scene.  Rather than leave the boat out all winter in northern Illinois, I had her shrink wrapped after removing most everything from the boat. I intended to again put her up for sale in the Spring.  During the winter, I had 4 very interested people.  I have now worked my way through them and for a variety of good reasons they have decided to not move to an Eclipse.
There is nothing wrong with my Eclipse!  She is ready to sail away from the dock with virtually new sails and outboard, plus good trailer tires on a trailer with new bunks.  I am not selling her because she lacks anything.  A great boat in excellent condition with an old man as her Captain.  That's my story and I am sticking to it!   Sail On,  Al    630-728-6035   alsantini46@gmail.com

And here I thought you had decided to be a 2 boat person, leaving the Horizon Cat in FL and the Eclipse in IL. This would alleviate trailering a boat every year.
