We went sailing today on our little 15 footer.  Oriental had their annual concert on the water.  Great music and a lot of boats.  90% m/vs but still some nice sailboats.  Including s/v Allure, a Compac 27.  Very nice looking boat.  The captain is part of the facebook group, but hasn't signed up here.

It was nice to be out again.  Maybe someday I'll get the 19 back in the water.

Doesn't the first sail feel great? Congrats on your move!! I do hope you find the boat of your dreams. Any luck with the one's we talked about a few weeks ago?

Yes!  We bought an '86 Seidelman 295 August 20th.  The day before we left on our trip.  It's in Topping, VA and as soon as  all the paperwork goes through, I'll be sailing her home.  I was hoping things would have been completed by our return and I was going to surprise you at BBB 2021, but as of yet we're still waiting on the CG documentatoon.

I'm gathering items now for the trip and plan on motoring down the Dismal swamp to the Albemarle sound and sail the rest of the way.

We'll probably keep her in a slip in town until the house is built so I can easily ride my bike to the marina.  Also, there is an oak tree with a precarious limb hanging too near our dock for my comfort.  It will be removed when they clear the trees for the house.

Hey Carl, sent you a PM. We keep our boat in Topping and was wondering if it was in our marina? Bob23 has been there more than once so can't speak for our reputation other than to say we don't drink PBR!

I heard that Rick!! Your reputation speaks for itself!! I hope all is well with you and Susan and I hope we can throw back a PBR together soon!!
Carl: So many congratulations are in order for you! The boat sounds great and I do hope the house project goes smoothly. It'd be great to have you and Joannie arrive at BBB 2021 but it's a scaled down version this year, as we expected. Still, now that you're East coasters, I hope you can visit NJ sometime and I can show you how real pizza is done!

Mas, I answered your pm.

Bob, we would love to come up and have you spend all your cash on us for an evening or two.  Hell, we may even bring all the kids and grandkids too!  Seriously, we're hoping that with a larger boat, Joanie will be comfortable enough that we can sail up for a visit.

In town there is a coffee shop I love riding my bike to and sitting on the deck that overlooks the harbor.  And of course I love espresso, so with a little play on words, Joanie came up with Oriental Expresso.

I will attempt to design a coffee cup with the heat signature rising off it looking like a dragon.  Oriental's mascot.

As for the 19,  I'll probably sell it and buy a 16 for those times I want to go out gunk holing or just for an hour or two.  The 16 would still allow me to overnight, have a head, and participate in small boat get togethers.  Hmm, you wouldn't happen to know of any near our daughters in Illinois would you?  ;)

It is why we also have a 16! Plus they will continue to teach you how to trick the wind into moving your boat even better than your bigger boat. We love both our girls. Great idea for the area around Oriental as well as, I dunno, maybe a CLR gathering! ????

I was going through all the mail that accumulated while we were gone.  Apparently I applied and received a new NC title and registration for our Compac 19.  Funny, I don't remember doing this.  It looks like I can finally slip her off the trailer and secure her to our dock.

Of all the things I have lost, I miss my mind the most!
