Well G & Gs,

It's time to say MERRY CHRISTMAS!!  We're staying home this Christmas.  The kids and GKds are all in FL.  After we get the Vaccine, we'll go have a belated Christmas.

The Admiral each year writes an annual obligatory, but dreaded, Christmas letter.  If you wish, click on the link below for you reading pleasure.

Tim, Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you and to all. I have to say the spirit is slow to come this year with just the two of us as well. But Bren and I are so so blessed to comfortable here at home with our needs met. We are still able to take daily walks by the harbor despite the Maine temps and Winter wind. I am glad for Zoom where faces, conversation and humor keep the feeling of connection.

All the best Tim and the Admiral.  Like just about everyone on the board, we are at home doing a little bit of nothing.  Did not bring the boat to FL in the Fall like we usually do, and with winter being a bit up in the air, I decided to inside store the Eclipse.  If we go, we will leave in about 2 weeks, after New Years and stay until either April or when the vaccine is available at home.  We figure a better chance of getting it at home than as a part-time resident of FL.  But who knows.
Merry Christmas and a Happy (better?) New Year to you and your lovely wife.  We hope the season finds you both well.

We drove up to our two oldest daughters today and exchanged gifts without contact.  It was weird, and the tiny one was a little upset that we couldn't hug.  Tomorrow we'll open them in our homes while zooming.  Because of covid, our youngest and her family have decided to stay in Montana.  Joan and I be will having Christmas alone.  Well not alone, we're having a 14lb turkey over for dinner.  No decorations up this year.  With the injury to my hand and new windows being installed next week, we didn't see the point.

Wishing all a merry Christmas and healthy and old normal new year!

Buon Natale! May your sails be full, the mast always pointing up and may the water line always be on the outside of the boat as we celebrate the birth of Jesus of Nazareth! (note: a historical fact, not a religious post)

Happy solstice.  May the druids once again bring the sun back to us.

Merry Christmas to all!! Weird though, after 52 years of marriage this will be the first Christmas spent without family.  Other traditions have also fallen by the wayside, midnight Mass, an event that Sheri always tries to attend, will be streamed this year.  I spent part of yesterday trying to cut a number of recipes in half or more for her, no one to share them with.  Big old beat up house usually packed to the gills, with four empty guest rooms. Decorations were half what they would normally be.  On the positive side, we only have one person in the immediate family with Covid-19, a DIL, and her fever broke this morning, she is on the improving side of the hill.

It has turned very cold here in the deep south, so at least we will have a nice fire tonight and tomorrow.

Looking forward to New Years, so this train wreck of a year will be over.  Even though nothing will change immediately it will be a milestone for hope.

I got a milestone for hope in my right shoulder on Tuesday.

Reminds me of the 3 rules of boating safety I once read

1) Keep the boat in the water

2) Keep the water out of the boat

3) Stay on the darn boat
