I don't remember that specifically but I knew there'd be turbulence associated with the lever so I wanted it high on the rudder, aft of where there were other sources of turbulence. But, lower on the rudder made no sense anyway.

I do recall clamping a temporary lever to the core, and the equivalent extra weight that the Starboard would add, just to work out the length of the lever for adequate leverage and the mounting of the uphaul (control rod in my case) so there would be no interference with other components. Looking at it again, I think the lever could have been attached higher on the rudder and work just as well. The length of the lever is the only critical bit. In use, it's worked fine.
