Active Captain and navigation software replacement

Searching for a new solution to replace my Active Captain aware navigation software. I was using a Windows based tablet and Polar View navigation software. It was a great solution because I could update the Active Captain database and have it available in Polar View without a internet connection. However Garmin has purchased Active Captain and Polar View has elected to not re-write their API for Garmin compatibility. Now I have lost a treasured resource for cruising to unfamiliar waters. Has anyone found another solution? I need windows supported software and one that supports Active Captain. The goal is to have an auxiliary navigation app with Active Captain database and to be independent of a internet connection. So far, the only software I have found that meets my requirements are Rose Point Coastal Explorer and TimeZero. Both are expensive ($365.00 and $500.00) and have way more capability than my needs call for. I use a basic Garmin plotter as my primary navigation tool, but having Active Captain's local knowledge is a big plus when cruising in unfamiliar waters.
