Forward hatch replacememt

I recently purchased a 1993 Compac 23-3.  I'm working at repairing some things prior to the 2007 season.  I was wondering if anyone could help with a couple questions.

First: The forward hatch needs replacement.  Any recommendations?  The hatch that is there seems to be lacking a bit in quality.

Second:  The forward deck vent needs replacing.  The standard one seems rather cheaply made - PVC I think.  Has anyone replaced this vent?  Recommendations?

Any help would be appreciated.
