Railroad Greg

I logged on to post my !978 CP16 for sale.
I just acquired a Morgan 22 that needs about $$$.
Anyway, I read Curt from Tampa post about great service at ComPac.
Dang it, I'm afraid I'll miss my CP16.
Thank you curt

Mas

Don't do it! If you can keep her and appreciate the simplicity and ease of taking her places. It's ok to have more than one boat!

Wow! You just made me realize that I have four boats (including the Portland Pudgy dinghy). I should probably get rid of the 13 foot Alcort Puffer that's sitting in my garage at my cottage. I'm keeping the old 16 Alumacraft car top fishing boat though, I'll probably never get rid of that one.

I have to say the 16 is about as perfect a boat as I could want. The easy sailing, towing, loading on a trailer, and stability of a "real" sailboat can not be overstated. Your mileage may vary, but I find it to be pretty great...

I'm proof there isn't any rules against having more then one boat. I currently have five, two with sails and three with paddles. That's down from six at one time so I'm doing better.  :)

Actually I'm just a beginner, I think there are others here that own enough boats to start a rental service.

You have (or had) a really nice looking 16 there.

Do not sell this boat.  It is easy to store. AND always ready to sail.  Never part with a classic.

I currently have 3, which is down from 4 (Coronado C15, Chrysler C26, ComPac23, and Cal 21 which was sold a while back). Only the CP23 is currently afloat.

My wife says I'm in a 12 step program; means "if I go within 12 steps of another boat" she will beat me with a tiller...

You need to hook up with Bob23! Sounds like you guys are in the same 12 step program! There's a lot to be said for support groups.  :)

Hmmm...lets see:   1 Pacific Seacraft 31
                             1 Compac 16
                             1 Sailing/rowing dinghy
                             2 Canoes
                             2 Decked whitewater kayaks
                             2 Sit upon kayaks
                             1 very understanding wife

the problem is that I am constantly within 12 steps of one of them!

Inflatables? I didn't know we were counting inflatables. I guess that makes one more.

There's a Dana just two slips over from me. My wife can't understand why they are nearly ten times what we paid for our CP27.

Gunna really keep you up now.....we had lusted after a Dana oh so many years ago about the time we were giving up sailing and saw the "new" Crealock design for Pacific Seacraft, the 31. It was everything the Dana was just a more nimble/evolved design with the space for real comfort. A Dana all grown up! Now that we have returned to sailing we knew one was gunna happen.
