A friend of mine, and damn fine sailor, told me about this little cult you all have here. So glad to have a home. I look forward to learing all about the adventures had in this fantastic little boats. First time com-pac 16 owner 1981. So far it is the best sailboat i have ever owned or sailed. Thanks again for having me.

Welcome aboard!

We have lots of ideas of how to enjoy a C 16 even more than you have imagined.

Post a picture or two.

Got questions about your new boat?

Get in touch with Salty19, our Fleet Admiral, he can set up your payment schedule for your initiation fees.

Pictures would be great.

I have always wanted to get down to Kentucky Lake.  It is a reasonable distance from where I am in Wisconsin.

I first learned to sail on Kentucky Lake, at Roy C. Manchester Boy Scout camp.  Many fond memories of Kentucky Lake.

Now I wish I could sail as much as I can visit this site.

Truly this is a cult and a mighty fine one at that. The folks here are the best as is your boat. We learned to sail on one and now have another, truly the boat that started all of this.

Welcome indeed!

Kentucky Lake

Thanks for all the warm welcomes. I'm amazed at all the interest in kentucky lake. I love this area and have been sailing here now for five years, met a few friends along the way and even a few enimies, rude fishermen.
In light of the generous offer to wave my very respnablr membership fees I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Edward Hubbard i fell in love with sailing about 5 years ago. I'm  37 and I've owned a mac 21, hunter 25, Yflyer, and now my most favorite boat ever the com-pac 16 which is the perfect boat for kentucky lake. Last fall i sailed my 25 down the tenn tom to Perdido bay and into the gulf. I plan to take my 16 on the same trip this fall. Thanks again.

Welcome Edward!  The TennTom trip is a good plan because as long as you stay below the Mason Dixon line you are relatively safe from Bob's "Family".  And should you do that, you should keep me up to date on your itinerary, I'll be glad to buy you a beer as you pass through Bay Springs Lake.  As you know you will need such a treat after traveling down divide cut (boring).  I keep my 23 at Bay Springs Marina which is just north of the Jamie Whitten lock and dam.  You might add a day to sail the lake, it is a beautiful, undeveloped lake, although somewhat small compared to Kentucky Lake.

Have considered towing up to Kentucky Lake a few times but have never put the trip together.  Also thought about just renting a cabin at Lighthouse Landing and renting a Colgate there for my sailing fix.

im thinking that those two sweet 16s would fit in nicely at the clr and while im at it viperman could make a trip south while you guys are headed north.

Thanks. I'll do that. I stopped in Bay Springs last November for gas. Beautiful lake you have there. The marina owner and his wife were very nice. I'll definitely look for you next time around. And drop me a line when your at kentucky lake. Im sure i could put you on a boat.

I'm impressed you're going to take your CP-16 all the way to the Gulf from Kentucky Lake!   How long do you expect that will take?

Great to have you on here, Ed!

As I had welcomed you via a message, let me just say thanks for the heads up on the campgrounds at Kentucky Lake.
