$1300 Outboard Motor Bracket Sure Looks Nice! ....too pricey for me...

Good idea... but in my SC (with a 4HP longshaft Tohatsu) raising the motor vertically is not too difficult even with the classic bracket. The problem is that this still leaves the propeller in the water, and the difficult maneoeuvre is to have to reach over the transom to tilt the motor forward and make the shaft clear the water... I think I'll wait until the bracket design can also tilt the motor forward...

Wow nice but almost as much as my Sailpro.  I think if I were to spend that much money on a sailboat you might be better off with a jackplate to keep the motor close to the transom no matter how much you raise or lower it.  Those pesky inch lbs. can create a pretty big moment arm force and affect trim.
