I drove down to Richlands, NC yesterday afternoon to the Sailboat Company and met with Keith Scott who is the owner.  The trailer bunks on my "new" CP 16 don't look right, but as a novice, I didn't know quite what was wrong, so I called Keith and asked if I could take a look at some of the 16s on his lot.  What a wealth of knowledge!  I learned more in the hour I was there than I have in several days of searching the web.  Keith took time out of his day to answer my questions and I feel like he enjoyed the time.  I know I sure did!

I agree.  I haven't run into anyone who knows more about ComPacs. I sometimes wonder how he gets any work done. If I call him with a problem he will spend 20 minutes on the phone, not only explaining the issue but making sure I understand.

Exactly.  We walked and talked all over his lot.  He showed me what he was working on, answered everything I asked him, even showed me examples of how to do it and how not to.  And as a plus I found out that there is a second website linked to his primary that has archives of a lot of what he has written.  Somehow I missed it, but I spent last evening reading though his archives - way more than what will fit in a  evening.

If you are new to ComPac 16s, suggest Scott's web site. Lots of good info in the Q and A. I particularly enjoy the topics listed in the left margin. All are nicely written and enjoyable/instructional.
The "Sweet 16" article is really valuable for 16 owners.

You are all absolutely correct about Keith. I had never heard of Com-Pac in 2010 when I was researching small sailboats. I found his website, read about the CP16 and that sealed the deal. I bought my '83 16 from him and sailed it for eight years. He sold it for me earlier this year, as I moved up to a CP27.
