I had my yearly overnight birthday sail! The weather was beautiful 80's in the day and 60 at night. the winds were 10 to 15 and clear skies. NUM1GIN performed flawlessly and I fell in love with here all over again.

Howdy there !

Sounds like a wonderful thing. I've been trying to finish mine in time for the first cruise on my birthday, but seeing as I'm on the computer right now, rather than taking Udara Tanda for a splash tonight, it looks like I missed my completion time estimate by a bit.

When I saw your weather indications, I was thinking a fellow Floridian and after looking at your profile, I realized you are pretty close to the Tampa Bay area. Other then a bit more humidity than normal last night, it sure was nice here in Tampa too. The nice weather let me finish up replacing the gooseneck and outhaul castings and the rest of the fittings on the boom.

Happy birthday to you, and I hope to be able to celebrate such occasions in a similar manner. Before closing this post, I have 2 questions to pose:

Are you planning to head out to the Strictly Sail by the Saint Pete Pier in 2 weeks? We've never been to one, so we figured it was about time to see what it is about.

Also, a friend told me about something of a Christmas regatta in the Tampa Bay area where a bunch of sailors trim their boats with Christmas lights and cruise around in a mini-fleet on a specific day during the holidays. Have you heard of something like that being done in your area?

Again, Happy Birthday and perhaps we'll see each other some time.

Johann.

Hi Johann, Its nice to hear from a fellow floridian. I was born in ST. Pete, moved to polk county in 89 to escape the crowds. I had not heard about the strictly sail but sounds like something to check out. In winter haven they have a boat parade every year, no sail boats though, too many low bridges. I've been wanting to come back and sail tampa bay again, maby one day.   HAPPY SAILING
