Sad to say the season on Lake Granby is ending. Fortunately, I was able to have an incredible final sail...72 degrees, sunny, 10-12 knots gusting to 20. Can't ask for much more than that. Pretty warm at 8200' for this time of year.

This year I elected to spring for retrieval by the marina folks as well as onsite mast up storage. Looking forward to a simple launch next year (if there is such a thing!). The entire process took about 20 minutes and I didn't have to worry about breaking anything! I will probably not go back to mast stepping unless I build a pole barn to fit the 23 or plan an extended coastal adventure.

I'm looking forward to reading about the good times that all of you warm weather sailors are having this winter. Meanwhile, I'll be skiing at Winter Park and looking forward to next spring...the winters here are very long.

Nothing wrong with that.  Already have my lift ticket pass for this coming spring ski trip to Winter Park.  Can't wait to see what kind of crew Todd has lined up at the Timber House.

Blah...Not a big fan of winter.

I understand the idea of not having to step the mast all of the time.  It is a major pain and it is a long process to rig and tun everything.  I am not good a tuning the rig either.  Maybe one of these days I will buy a loos gauge and get the correct numbers from compac on how to tune it properly.  That sounds like a great idea.

In the mean time, Saga is sitting on her trailer on land.  Her mast is down (necessary any which way as I am going to run coax down the mast this year for the new VHF and probably re-run the anchor light so I can wire tie everything to keep from it slapping the mast).
