I have left my boat in the water for the first time this year and have a lot of condensation.  There is no electricity at my dock so cannot run a fan for circulation.  Has anyone experienced this and does anyone have a solution?  All suggestions appreciated, I spend nights on the boat and is a little uncomfortable.  Even in Eastern North Carolina the nights get a little cool!

Thanks,  tj

topside condensation (dew) or below in the cabin, or both?

Usually heat of day burns off topside condensation (dew) except on colder humid days. If hoping to avoid it at night in the cockpit, a boom tent, bimini, etc, anything that will keep the dew from settling on you! If below deck in the cuddy cabin then make sure you don't have a source of moisture down there and install a solar fan on the foredeck and keep it closed to keep out moisture till ready to use. A small oil lamp in the cabin will supply a surprising amount of heat which helps with the fall dew issues as well. A bunch of different gimbaled designs that run for many hours. Use only a good quality oil since you don't wish to breathe soot and it keeps surfaces cleaner and globes bright. Hey it's in the water and you're on her. No charge for the rocking yourself to sleep!

The colder winter air will have less humidity so less moisture but once the water temps drop as well you may find the hull sides sweat some. You planning on sleeping aboard all winter? Can you run a drop chord to the dock for some power. A small heater would solve everything except topside moisture which canvas takes care of.

Thanks,  Already have small oil lamps and good grade of oil, had forgot about them.  Also have boom tent on top of Bimini topside.  No power close by for when I'm not there though.  Yep, plan to stay on her much as possible, even in winter, and take advantage of some of these warm Eastern North Carolina days on the Neuse.  Thanks Again for jogging my memory!  tj
