Well, after a great cruise up the East Coast on a very big boat...  we arrived home yesterday and I figured that I needed to go and sail Off The Wind.  Nice low 70's day with decent winds expected.  Arrived around 10 AM to 12+ mph that were building.  Around noon the winds had picked up to over 18 and it was time to reef.  I furled the Genoa, pointed into the wind, dropped the main, caught the reefing hook and pulled the halyard tight.  Now for the new clew reefing arrangements.  I pulled the line and slicker than snot the reef clew came down to the boom and stayed there.  Cool  Tied off the two sail ties and voila, reefed.  I sailed for 2 more hours and it held just fine.  I think I was over 20 mph with some gusts but with the reef in the main and 1/2 furled Genoa, I was balanced.  Needless to say I am very pleased with the new reefing arrangement and would highly recommend it as a great mod to the Eclipse.  Fair winds all.
