Been having a wee bit 'o trouble (understatement) getting a license plate for Frisky's trailer here in SC.

Short version:  FL does not title trailers below a certain weight, but requires plates for all trailers, so they are registered and have plates, but NOT titled.  (At least that is my understanding.)

SC does not require license plates, which is nice and convenient if you only want to visit sites within SC.  But all surrounding states require plates.  So off to the DMV I go.  Come to find out, if any vehicle has a plate here, it has to have a title too.  Now I have to go through the process to get a title on a previously owned vehicle with no title.   Do they have a customer friendly procedure for this?  Of course not.  I had to fill out two additional forms, take pictures from "all angles" of the vehicle, make a copy of my Drivers License and take the trailer in to get a DMV official to read the plate and verify the VIN.  (The form actually states to take pictures from "all angles"!  Well, for you non math type people, that implies an infinite number. I seriously thought about taking and printing 100 or so and asking if that would suffice, but decided against it, as they just would not get it, and they might make me fill out another form for being a smart ass. I took 4, which seemed to meet the "all angle" requirement)  Anyway, I thought I was good to go at this point, but upon going back in, they decided that I needed the FL registration card from the PO.

So, I email the good Capt.   Does he still have it?  Will he send it?  If he doesn't have it, can he somehow get a replacement for a trailer he does not even own anymore?  Would he?  Would I, given the same situation in reverse?  Questions, questions....

Well, he had it (and about three others).  Problem is, they were all cut up, but not thrown out, in the garbage of his man cave.  He took the time to find all the pieces and reassemble it and is mailing me that, plus the receipt from when he turned the plate in that has all the same information on it.  If they don't accept all that, it will be write my Congressman time....

At any rate, you have gone above and beyond the call of duty Captain Nemo, and I thank you!
