Anyone know this boat?

When I bought my 87 CP 16 II it had no name, so I thought. As I have been detailing her, over this past year, I have noticed, very faintly, what appears to be her name, "NoTippy". Apparently the name had been removed before the owner I bought the boat from got her.
If anyone has any information about her I'd like to have it. She is sound, no leaks, few bumps and bruises, but "NoTippy". I'm actually thinking about keeping the name.
I bought the boat in NC if that helps jog anyone's memory.
Thanks, and I'll hope to hear something.

PalmettoSailor,

Strongly recommend you RENAME the boat "No Tippy", and don't be surprised if she rewards you with many trouble-free, safe, and happy sailing hours.

Cal me a true beliver, a hopeless romantic, or just nuts, but do it anyway!

Best wishes with the boat.

P.S. New Owner of "Frisky" the Sun Cat said he liked the name and would probably keep it. Told him also that "she" would like that!

As the new owner of Frisky and a Trusty Shellback Navy vet, I 2nd the suggestion.  I never even considered renaming Frisky.  For one thing, the process http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/rename.htm is too fraught with the possibility of error, and them gloom and doom are sure to follow.  Don't mess with the gods.....

However, I had taken a liking to the boat AND the name through watching the boat as Don did this and that to it over the years.  I had drifted away from the forum for awhile, and discovered Frisky was for sale by looking around on sailboatlistings.com.  I recognized her immediately!  It was now or never.  So now, I am eagerly awaiting cooler / windier weather, but the couple of times we have taken her out so far have been a joy!  Thanks again Nemo!

NoTippy seems a cool name at any rate.  I see you go by PalmettoSailor.  Are you in SC?  Frisky is now home ported on Lake Murray, near Chapin.  There is definitely one other Suncat on Lake Murray, her owner is on this forum and and I have heard rumors of another that sits at Columbia Sailing Club on her trailer....  May ride over and check that rumor out one day.  Not sure of any other Compacs on the lake.
