Hello all! I am preparing to refinish my interior on my compac 16 built in '72. What is the flaky bubbly stuff used to coat the interior? It looks like it's probably just a spray on finish, but I'd like to remove it and wondered if any of you had experience with that. I'd like to spray the interior a glass white, add some wooden bright work and get her ready for weekend camping. I've also got a depth sounder to install and I'd like to it in hull, any thoughts on where the best place to put it would be? I have a humminbird 650 with the included transom mount/ epoxy-able sounder.

I had exactly the same problem with the interior of my cp16-1981.  I scraped and sanded it off and hand painted it with enamel paint.  Looks and works fine 3 years later.

I also had the same problem, sanded and purchased liner material to glue to interior from Hutchins, sound proofs and insulates from temp. diff., thus elimating moisture from forming on the inside of hull...nies
