Jim,

Very cool boat. Glad to read you are still keeping the CP16 - you can still use our forum if you keep the CP (only kidding)

PS/ How will you deal with the fuel bills?? Ha,ha,ha . . .rag bagging is much less expensive!

Mercrewser

I dont have any fuel bills yet because it isnt running!! LOL!  I took the Saturn to an equipment rental company to get the hitch installed.  $200 installed with lights.  I only pulled the boat 2 blocks with the Saturn.  I will pull the CC with my work truck once I get a hitch on it.

Good luck with the new boat . . .exciting stuff!

Enjoy . . .

I read through this thread months ago, but it didn't hit me until just now. Our CP16 is hull #763, yours is the most closely related one I've found so far. Congrats on the bottom scrape job. I believe after 8 years in a garage/warehouse our 16 may be going in a slip next summer (put in a non-refundable deposit for one at the Jersey shore where are Cape Dory 28 is and just got a space in the yacht club on the Hudson which we've been on the waiting list for 3 years).

Before it goes in the slip I will try out the tilt off the trailer into the front yard trick, it has gobs and gobs of old bottom paint flaking off and cracking. Definitely needs one nice new coat over the gel-coat if I can find it.
