boom vang fitting

Anyone know how far from the mast the boom vang should be sited on the Horizon Cat?

Are you using a boomkicker, or a regular non-rigid boom vang?
I got some advise on placing the boomkicker on my HDC that will be delivered in about a month.

If you are going to use a boomkicker see the thread " lowering the mast with a boomkicker" in boat and hardware modification.  There are two pictures showing options for placement of the boomkicker.

thank you for the suggestion, I plan to use a low tech, cheap alternative derived from rock climbing equipment
