CP-16 Rudder Craft rudder for sale

Hi--  When I started working on rehabilitating my CP-16 1.5 years ago, I bought the highly-recommended Ida/RudderCraft replacement rudder.  Now I wish I had gotten the entire rudder assembly instead.  (Being a small woman and expecting to be single-handling most of the time, I think that will be a big help to me.)  Is anyone interested in buying my un-used rudder so I can turn around and buy the assembly?  I would like to sell it for the price I paid, $295, and I will pay ground shipping charges to your location in the continental USA.  Thanks for your interest--  Gretcheng in Vermont

Hi, Will--  I understand this modern foiled rudder makes a huge difference in how the boat handles.  Good luck convincing your wife!  Who knows, maybe you'll want to sail more often with easier and better steering?  :-)  Thanks for your interest--  Gretcheng

Sounds like you have not used the foiled rudder.
Maybe Rudder Craft would take it in trade on the full assembly.

No go on the rudder for this year. Maybe that will be my winter project - build a foil....?

Will, sorry you can't swing a new rudder--enjoy some sailing anyway!

I did think of trying for a trade-up, Carry-on, but decided it wouldn't work.  I unwrapped the rudder to mount on the boat just to see how it looked in the back yard, and it has been gathering dust in the shop for a year.  So, though it is unused, it is no longer pristine.

In light of that, I'll drop the rudder price to $275, and I'll pay shipping to the continental USA.  The rudder head and tiller are also available, so other deals are possible!  Thanks--  Gretcheng

Hi, CP-16ers--  Okay, I'd really like to move this rudder, while saving half a shirt so I can buy the complete Rudder Craft assembly!  How about an August sale of $200, and you pay the shipping?  That's roughly one third off the full price for a foiled replacement rudder that has never been sailed or run aground.  I also have the original CP rudder stock (rudder head?  the metal bit that the blade hinges off) if that is wanted.  I also have the original stock tiller in decent shape, if that would be of interest.  Thanks for your consideration--  Gretcheng
