Anyone on this list on Cape Cod or the vicinity? I'm in Wareham, MA, moored in Sunset Cove, past Shell Point and Onset Harbor.

I've got a 19 moored at Kingman's Marina in Red Brook Harbor. I usually sail across Buzzards Bay to Wareham but stay south of the Stony Point Dike.  I often think of going up your way but have chickened out when I think of my ride home - outgoing tide with strong SW wind making for bad chop or incoming tide with strong SW wind making for very slow progress. But now that I know there is someone there to sail with ......

Yes, just getting too near the entrance to the canal can be pretty iffy too. I have memories of trying to sail our Herreshoff America from Onset around the sand spit to Wareham and moving backward in the current. Wouldn't even think of it in a Picnic Cat. Much better to trailer.

Hi Catnip;
I own a 27 and keep it on Mt Hope Bay. I have been out your way (Marion, Onset, Cuttyhunk, Hadley Harbor and others) a number of times. Have a great season.

Hi Sailors:
How about a ComPac get together this summer? I'm game for anywhere on Buzzards bay. Let's chat about this !!

Bruce.

Where are you in Mt. Hope Bay? I'm keeping my Sabre there for the winter.

Hmm...sounds interesting. I might be game.

I'm interested too. Keep my 19 in Redbrook Harbor at Kingman's.

Mattapoisett: Large State ramp open to all, good anchoring with SW prevailing winds (bad in SE), no overnite dockage, 1-2 hours public dockage, nice town.

I'm not going elsewhere in my CP16, but will help all others from the group

Cape Cod.  Yeah I've heard of that place.  A suburb of Maine I hear.  Just kidding of course.

I'm in Orleans.  I (normally) keep my CP23 on a mooring in Pleasant Bay.  I'd be interested in a get together in your neighborhood (Buzzards Bay).  A friend of mine sails a Wianno Sr out of Marion so maybe I'd not join you on my CP23.  You are welcome to stop by my part of Cape Cod (Pleasant Bay and the Atlantic) but ramps are few and either crowded or marginal for a CP23 here.  Slightly off season is best here.  September the water is warm and accomodations are available and discounted and ramps are no longer crowded.

Last year I didn't sail.  This was due to a torn ligament and tendons in my knee in May.  I'm still having what seems (to me) to be a tendon problem in my foot which can be quite painful and is affecting walking.  I'm trying another doctor and hopefully I should be back on my feet at some point and sailing again.

That hasn't kept me off the water.  I got injured jumping off a dock on land, getting the moorings that hold the dock ready and that's how I got hurt.  I was out on safety boat a lot for daysailer fleet 15 racing at OYC at Town Cove in Orleans.  I'm race committee co-chair there and that is one of the distractions that kept me on the water but off the com-pac mailing list for a while.  Also still did volunteer water sampling.  Just no sailing.

Its been a very long time since I took the time to read this site.  Not much has changed.  Bob23 starting a thread (on "what I learned") and got four pages of lively comments.  That seems familiar.

Keep me in mind if you get together next summer.  Maybe send me a PM if I've gone back into hibernation on this forum.

Hi Shawn:
I'm in Swansea  marina, one cove over from those UGLY cooling towers from the power plant (next to the Kickamuet Cove). Where is your Sabre stored?
Bruce

Shawn

Bruce,

The Sabre is spending the winter at Borden Light Marina in Fall River.

I have a wedding to attend in Wellfleet the last weekend in July.  I intend to bring our 19/2 up there and could be pursuaded to attend a rendezvous, depending on the time-frame.  I was hoping to attend the CLR but the wedding will make the travel a little too far.  We kept a boat in Barlow's Landing (Pocasset) for a number of years before we moved to MD.
